Community values
— We are a community that promotes and supports ethics and best practice in Caribbean archaeology and heritage studies.
— We aim to be multilingual and to use accessible language.
— We include archaeologists and those working and studying in other areas of Caribbean heritage, such as historians, museum curators, and intangible heritage experts.
— We are a contact point for the public to ask questions and access resources.
— We aim for a flat hierarchy, a bottom-up structure, and a collaborative decision-making process.
— We are inclusive of all parties working or studying in Caribbean archaeology and heritage, as long as they abide by the Code of Conduct and the CoCAH values.
— We aim for all coalition voices to be heard, on the understanding that our priority is to provide a safe and supportive space for junior and Caribbean scholars.
— We are intentionally an informal, decentralised, administratively light community, to support a flat hierarchy.
— We value co-creation, co-curation, community consultation, and public engagement as fundamental to Caribbean archaeological heritage work.
